Exotic Keeper is an animal husbandry and record-keeping application developed by The Drs. Edgar, LLC.
Exotic Keeper is designed as a local-first application. Animal records, husbandry logs, reminders, settings, and attached images are stored on the user's device.
Users may voluntarily enter and store information including:
This information is stored locally within the application's private storage area on the device.
Exotic Keeper does not require an account and does not automatically transmit animal records, photographs, husbandry logs, reminder information, or other app data to The Drs. Edgar, LLC.
Exotic Keeper does not currently include advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or third-party account authentication.
Exotic Keeper may request access to the device camera or photo library when a user chooses to attach an image to an animal or husbandry record.
Camera and photo access is used only at the user's request. Selected or captured images are copied into the app's local storage and are not automatically uploaded to The Drs. Edgar, LLC.
Exotic Keeper may request permission to display local notifications for animal-care reminders.
Reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered by the device. Reminder information is not sent to The Drs. Edgar, LLC for notification delivery.
Exotic Keeper allows users to create ZIP backups and PDF reports. These files may contain animal records, notes, settings, and attached images.
The user chooses where exported files are saved or shared. For example, a user may choose Google Drive, email, local storage, or another installed application.
Once a backup, report, or image is shared with another service, that service's privacy practices apply. The Drs. Edgar, LLC does not control third-party storage providers or applications chosen by the user.
App data remains on the device until the user edits or deletes records, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the application.
Uninstalling Exotic Keeper may permanently remove locally stored records and images unless the user created and retained a backup.
Because Exotic Keeper does not currently maintain user accounts or a developer-operated cloud database, there is no server-side user account or cloud record for The Drs. Edgar, LLC to delete.
Exotic Keeper is intended as a general animal-care and record-keeping utility. It is not specifically directed toward children under 13.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account or server.
Exotic Keeper uses the Android application's private storage area for local app data. Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and safeguarding any backup or report files they export.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Users should keep backups in a trusted location and protect files that contain sensitive notes or images.
Future versions may offer optional cloud synchronization, user accounts, subscriptions, analytics, or other online services.
